Where Is Lochgilphead ?

Lochgilphead is a small town on the west coast of Argyll, less than an hour to Oban by car, 30 minutes to Inveraray by car, and also only 30 minutes to Tarbert by car. Lochgilphead sits mid way along the west coast of Loch Fyne between Tarbert and Inveraray, and Ardrishaig is only a few minutes drive away. The Crinan Canal

The Crinan Canal runs between Crinan and Ardrishaig and alongside the small town of Lochgilphead. Loch Fyne is a sailors playground and the Crinan Canal is an important connection to traverse your boat across from Loch Fyne to be able to sail quickly to the western isles. Shopping

Lochgilphead high street has a good selection of Shops and several Estate Agents with a selection of properties throughout Argyll. Both Lloyds TSB and the Bank Of Scotland offer banking and financial services with the Bank Of Scotland having an ATM machine. For your food shopping there are a good selection of outlets including a large Cooperative Foodstore and a new Tesco Express.
