Lots of small organisations hold frequent small events for fundraising, community gatherings and for good causes. Find out more about forthcoming community events.
Every year throughout Argyll communities hold gatherings to celebrate Guy Fawkes night, or bonfire night as its more commonly known.
Lochgilphead is regarded as having a premium bonfire and fireworks event each year which is attended by lots of locals but also visitors from neighbouring towns and villages in support of this great community event.
A lantern parade is at the heart of the event, where children many or whom are very young and attended by their parents walk through the town centre to mark the date before a large bonfire is lit on the small island opposite the main Lochgilphead front green by the water.
The event is topped off by music, food and a generous fireworks display and has a real happy community feel.
The event is held as close to 5th November as possible each year.
